Underwater

No more watermarks, so it's all prettiness now. You may d/l for better view of the pain and angst I put into this.

I took my time with this one. Those who remember me posting it on Gaia, you finally get to see the result! It's only been... since June? lol. I promise it looks 100x better in real life. It's the second full page picture I've done...

Anywho, after watching Finding Nemo several times over, I think I finally got the effect I wanted. It was so challenging to do an underwater scene! A couple of my blue markers and a few greys died on this. lol. Still wish I could have gotten the blue water to blend more, but I was risking ruining some of the surrounding sections. I'm very glad I used a different marker type on the school; they would have been washed out for sure if I hadn't.

UPDATE: Why are her eyes covered?

Lenalia's eyes are covered because if a human sees a siren's eyes when she is singing, he (or she, in some cases) can see through the ruse (because, supposedly, he can see that there is no soul behind the mask).

Yeah, it doesn't come up much in the story, but when it does, Lenalia's always pissed at someone...

and it's supposed to be kinda creepy.
